Dude, she just came in here and gave me a big bag of Doritos! And then she gave me a bunch of produce bags I can use for cleaning up the cat's litterbox ... moms are good for these sorts of things! I love it when she does stuff like that for me without me asking. It's like, yay! Now I just need to find me some guy who's like that? LOL? No, but seriously, I love my mommy!

Allie, that's lovely, My mother doesn't even call on special occasions, and I mean by phone, let alone give me things that might be useful without me asking. But glad your's is a good one.

Aren't they great? Mine comes over for lunch some times. She brings the food, cleans the kitchen, leaves me leftrovers, and then says "thanks for having us over darling". And she's bringing me a big pot full of my favourite curry that only she can make! Yumhmhmhmy! So much love for the Mum!

Parents are wonderful.
Some times they could be anoying because they care too much and they try to protect us but it's because they love us and they don't want anything bad to happen to us. Fortunately mine are not bad.
I don't see them as often the last 4 years because i study in England.
For the people who might have over protecting parents maybe a discussion might help. You could say things like i am not a kit any more i want to be more indipentent because you won't be always there and unfortunately you will die one day and if i don't have experience of being indipentent it will be difficult.
Good luck.
Nikos

I agree dads are good as well. That's why i said parents instead of mam or dad. For me they are both as important.

Yeah I odn't have anything against parents or, in this case, mommies at all. Just against mine ... I need some time without them, I think.

my parents are totally awesome! they realize that rules just, well they just don't work for me, and so there aren't really. I mean, they are reasonable instead of just going by some set regulations. we hardly ever get in fights, I only get pissed off every once in a great while, and I get over it after writing in my journal, but we get along and agree and such.

Love this thread! all of your sences of humer are terrific in my view!

Seriousely though I envy most of you. My mum is a control freek. She has domenated me for 23 years and I have to put up boundries and keep her at arms length so that she wouldn't start domenating me again.

My dad was cool though and we were alwaysclose until the time he dyed.

I'm glad most of your mums and dads are cool though.

Maria.

I love my mommy; she is the best! She helps me out, buys me stuff, calls just to check up on me to see how I am doing, can always make me smile, and she's just cool.
